i want to catch a yellowbelly

Post by coburgfiss » Tue Sep 09, 2014 5:26 pm

hi there,

i grew up fishing the wimmera river near horsham and always wanted to catch a yellowbelly but could never manage it. that said i didn't really target them that closely and mainly caught carp, reddies and eel tailed catfish. the time has come to catch a yella so i've joined the forum to read up on locations and tactics.

my plan is to go to the murray river soon and use bait and lures. i'm also buying a kayak and a new rod and reel. i'm so excited to get away from melbourne and have a crack at my dream.

cheers!

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Laugh it up Murlzster! Just remember you require directions to 'spot X'! Would be a pity if you and the 2 cats end up together at 'spot nowhere' on your own! :-D
cheers

Stopped in at Dimboola today and had a look at the Wimmera River, looking bloody fantastic ATM! Been some handy yellas caught there recently...
