Gippsland lakes newbie

Post by Surf Poppers » Sun May 27, 2012 12:52 pm

G'day

I live on the Gippsland lakes at Loch Sport and own a small fishing based business. Mostly fish the 90 mile beach and Gippsland lakes.

Welcome, been to Loch Sport once. :sun: Didn't do any fishing though.

Even the police station has a cage around it. :sprint:

Hi Surf Poppers,
Planning on fishing the beach at Loch Sport this coming weekend. In fact will be there Friday onwards. Whats your business? I have been to Loch Sport often enough and have had a fair bit of success off the beach. How has the fishing been of late?
Cheers,
Charles.

Hi Charles,

I make the surf poppers that are for sale around the town as well as larger saltwater flies and tied hooks. Have managed to put a stronger hook in them as of this week so I'm pretty happy with them now. We had a week of no fish but they were biting this week until the weather turned, didn't even bother trying today.
Cheers
Sharyn

Thanks for the report Sharyn, have checked the long range weather forecast and the weather is promising. Just hope the forecast is halfway accurate and the fish are biting.
Charles.

welcome to the forum Surf Poppers ... hope your business is doing fine over there ... I've been in Loch sport once and we liked the fishing there, but the mosquitos and the big flys (even on the beach) were killing us ... eating us alive :)
