That sucks Mallee. How did you get in?

When boating I ensure my batteries are fully charged,
Motor is well serviced, I have all the required safety equipment in case of an emergency and the forecast is ok.

The safety of everyone on board is the number1 priority.

Meanwhile I had a think Garmin and Nav lights not working (loose wires/ battery) tightened everything up tried motor again still same thing just run for a few secs then stop, kept trying motor finally got it to run got anchor up and headed towards the boat ramp it was hard going as it was pretty choppy, wind musta been around 20 knots had a hard time trying to distinguish what was the channel bouy lights only the middle red one lights up. Garmin not working, resorted to a phone app was frustrating as spray was getting on screen and touchscreen don't work when moist! Anyways we made it back to boat ramp seemed like 2-3 hrs from start to finish was good to be on land again. What an experience!
I just like to say a BIG thanks to the 2 guys that I met as I just walked up the boat ramp to get my 4x4 and trailer they'd read on face book that we were in trouble (social media) can be good!
A lesson learnt, check all gear before going don't assume it will work!

So true!
We had lifejackes and flares ready to use
The forecast looked fine to around 10pm and the bay was so nice prior to us getting into trouble thought we'd be in and out by then. Lol NOT
