Hi all,

Just signed up to the forum and thought I'd do the right thing and introduce myself. So I've been fishing since I was a kid growing up in Central Vic, fishing mainly around the Loddon River, Cairn Curran, Tullaroop and Laanecoorie. There were other small creeks that my old man use to take me too also, but I can't recall their names.

I have fished a little bit of salt water but 99% of my fishing now is fresh water chasing natives and reddies. I'm land based only for now, but intend to change that in the near future by purchasing a tinny. I live in the outer North West of Melbourne and always looking for new fishing spots to try.

Anyway I'll leave it at that folks, good to be part of the Fishing Vic forum.

Hello all,
I would be coming to Melbourne sometime in December and I'm seeking advice on fishing in the many Melbourne's streams. I am on a baitcast/rod combo setup with lures, do not mind wading in the streams if it's not too deep and cold. I understand that there'll also be trekking involve in the wilderness. I will also be bringing in my own ultra light tackle and want to know if there's any issue on bringing my own.
I would be most happy to tag along should there be anyone going into the wilderness for fresh water sport fishing.
All advise are most welcome and thanks in advance.
