and thats how i met quite a few good mates who are forum members here.
also helps with the fact that the costs to go out fishing are split, so a bit better on the hip pocket for the skipper
having a second person with you is always a good thing from my point of view, i will never go fishing alone (exception is for patto chasing bream) but thats just me.
Frozenpod was my best man at my wedding last year.

I think it's great that people put themselves out there and are willing to make potential new friends...people are becoming more socially isolated (particularly men apparently)
This is one of my favourite threads & I think all deckies should read it (Deckie etiquette/rules)....viewtopic.php?f=70&t=1955

Welcome back, looks like you have a few deckies to choose from there, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

This bloke sounds like he is a perfect candidate :thumbsup:M9085 wrote:G'day Captain8,Captain8 wrote:Long term reader of the forum and lost my old acc details, have meet a few from here and was put off last time I registered for a decky and had a guy decide that he would not rock up or call to let me know after I got to the ramp at 4am.
Anyway..
I’m located in the south east of melbourne and looking for a decky who is reliable and humble sort of person.
Not really after big egos...
Launching most from carrum during the snapper hunt or top end of western port.
I also would like to put my hand up, if you ever need a decky.
I'm 45 yrs old have a boat licence and can reverse a trailer if need be. Mostly free on Tuesdays and Fridays, but with a days notice can do any weekday.
I'm getting up at 2.45am Monday to Friday and drive for a living, so won't let anyone down!
Not quite sure if my fishing skills are up to scratch, but I manage fish every now and then.
Cheers,
John
