this is a personal choice i guess, if i was in the market and looking at a similar sized boat id definitely go for the option of over the legal limit. unless ofcourse there was a boat that was far more superior than the bigger model in all aspects!
in saying that however as cobby has mentioned modern PFDs are so small that you dont even realise your wearing one. specially ones from crew saver, the new marlin slimlines etc etc.
i wear my lifejacket even if im on a bigger boat because im used to it now.
