My Introduction!
Hello fellow fishos!
My names Angus, and I'm just a kid that's been enthralled by this incredibly addicting activity. It's called fishing!
I've been fishing my whole life. It began when I was about 3, where I'd go down to Barwon Heads for a quick fish with my mum after whatever species was wanting to take the pippies that were thrown sloppily onto our equally sloppy rigs...which I must say, did actually somehow catch us quite a few salmon, to everyones surprise. This hobby continued for a while. Fishing was never too important for me, mostly just a way to relax and enjoy some family time. However, in the past year or two, I've come to understand just how great it is.
I decided to learn some stuff by myself, so went fishing locally on the Barwon River targeting some Carp and Redfin, where my basic skills expanded. However, these species quickly became boring to me, as I was consistently catching 4kg carp from my area.
My favourite species quickly changed to saltwater - squid, flatties, whiting, snapper, and just recently, gummies (went out on my kayak with a older friend, and we landed 2 gummies about 2-4kg. Not huge, but provided a great fight on the yaks!)
I originally fished bait only, but I'm now also loving lure fishing, with plastics especially taking my fancy. I fish Corio Bay and down towards Queenscliff and the Barwon River, so if anyones in the area and keen for a fish, I'm 100% down!
What are my bucket list fish? Of course, I wanna catch every fish under the Sun (don't we all), but the one key species at the moment that I have targeted down on the Barwon over 14 times now, is the elusive silver beast - the Mulloway. I genuinely think they're impossible to catch...I've tried everything! Also, I'd love to catch a Kingfish and a big red when the water warms up a bit.
Cheers for taking the time to read this!

Well written and welcome mate!
Good luck with the mulloway! Never caught one but i`d say persistence pays and do as much as research as possible.
And best of luck in your future fishing too!

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
