Arrived at Gunna at roughly 1030 with a dead low tide at about the same time. Walked to the left of the stairs at the second car park where there was a nice big hole.
Not a single bite until about 1230, then had three in quick succession.
I was using a paternoster rig, with blue/white popper on the bottom, and red/white on the second rod. (Rays outdoors pretied salmon rigs, the knots are letting go)
Bait was blue bait, chicken and squid. The blue bait did the damage.
Sinkers were 125 and 150 gram, grip sinkers (available from Peninsula Total Tackle). They cast like a rocket.
All in all I caught in excess of a dozen salmon up to 45 cms, I kept 5 and let the rest go.
All in all a great day, very little swell or wind and after having a number of disappointing a more than a few fishless trips to Gunna, it was great to have a day of catching a number of fish.
Magical day at Gunnamatta
