Been fishing Gunnamatta on and off.. All fish under 1 kilo, all one lures. Across the board have seen similar sized ones being landed by the bait fishos, with the stray larger model.
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

Yep they've turned up. Check out recent reports and you'll see where. People have been getting them on bait on lures

This wind and swell combination is being a bit of a pain in the arse for chasing the sambos east of the bay. I might have to check out Torquay or something if this keeps up.

There's a few schooling through the yarra if you're lucky enough to be in the right place when they swim past.
Been getting a few at newport/williamstown mostly around 25cm and a few bigger ones 40cm-60cm pilchard and chicken when the tides moving seems to work best.

Has anyone else struggled on the ocean beaches this season?
I've fished Gunna a few times and not done very well and a couple of weeks ago a mate and I fished Kilcunda, Williamsons and Inverloch and didn't see a fish.

I've caught more bay trout than good salmon this year...

I got one on bait at Gunnamatta ages ago, got donuts every time I've tried lures.

Been a poor season in general. Largely due to the fact the wind, swell and swell direction have been nothing short of shocking over the last 2 months. Also in general the fish have been alot smaller this year as well.

The Gun has been very quiet. A few fish but not the explosions we've been witnessing the last few years.

The Island has been producing ok and so has the top end of the bay.

I'm walking in to a new beach on Sunday nearby so i'll let you know how that goes.

If this NWer would **** off and the swell would get below 1.5 we'd probably be in with a better shot. Tough conditions the last few weeks.
