salmon at sorrento pier

Post by bizzybee » Tue Aug 13, 2013 8:49 pm

Hey all... really late on posting this but thought I would share my success with you all...
I onky just signed up and I am still figuring out hoe to use it properly :)

went down to diamond bay for a dive with the boys. When we got there we realised we didnt have a wet suit for me... luckily enough I had brought my rods along as back up..!
So I left the boys in the water and head off to sorrento pier for a flick.
got there around 9:30am and it was blowing a gale around 35 knot nw... but other fisherman on the pier kept me interested so I started flickin the metal slugs around with no success for about 30mins.
Then thats when the fun started.! For the next hr it was chaos a fish a cast just about.. after catching my bag I remembered I had to pick the boys up as I had the car with all their clothes and towels n they would be freezing.. lol
got back to them waiting in the car park shivering... and a lil upset until I told them to check the esky... with seeing my haul they forgot all about me leaving them to freeze to death....
we jumped back in the car n headed back to the pier as the boys wanted in on the action...
By this stage the pier was empty but we gave it a crak for a while with no success for round 20 mins... then bang another 20 mins later n we had another 13 salmon between us so we called it a day..! All fish ranging from 40cm around 1kg to the biggest 52cm around 2.2kg... all in all a craker morning..
