Roll them in egg then salt and vinegar chips.

Just Got back, No luck Although i wasn't expecting anything, More wind then expected too, but still had fun, the wind at my back made my cast super far, which was fun.

Where to next?

Gunnas mate, probably your best bet

Yeah gunnamata, using salmon slugs about 30-40g and just find a gitter cast through it then move on to the next one until you find the fish, 9-12ft rod and a 4000-6000 (shimano sizes) reel would serve you the best

Don't listen to everything you read in magazines....gutters are not the only spot where your gonna find salmon..my personal fave is down the shoulders of the waves where they form the border between wash and the gutter or rip..but I've caught tons of salmon in the washes, in the shallows, in the gutters, pretty much all the way along the beach..they turn up wherever the baitfish that they chase are located..
