I fished up near the town near the water outlet thing and caught a heap of mullet and silver trevally and saw a jewie swimming around if that helps :)
The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad

It certainly helps GTSHoon as I've only ever caught one little smallie mullet in my half a dozen times or so that I've fished at Tooradin. It deceivingly looks like a great place to hook up at least a dozen or so but alas. Thanks for the update.

Burley is the key chuck out a hessian bag full of crushed up pillies and some pellets and you should start a frenzy :)

Such a simple act of burleying but so effective and neccesary to draw the fishes in - like a carrot to the horses. Thanks again GTSHoon for educating a noob (only 2 years in the hobby but loving it).

Yeah the inlet where the pelican cafe is has mullet, bay trout (salmon) and trevally MAINLY
BUT if you go heavy and get a small mullet throw it out as a live bait as there are some mulloway in there but also some MONSTER eels

Try using small cut up bits of filleted blue bait works awesome for the trevally and mullet.
Berley is a must, park at the pelican cafe and walk across to the island and to your right a bit away from the turbulence of the the incoming tide.
:water:
i Always bring a bigger rod just in case the mulloway are around - throw a live mullet on and wait. :r
