Point Lillias 26 Feb
I have only just found out about Point Lillias a few weeks ago and have been dying to try it. Plan was to fish it early Sat morning, but the weather put a stop to that. Lucky for me i had a free Sunday afternoon and headed down around 3pm. The main aim was investigating the area for an evening / night session in the near future.
First cast... even before the 2nd rod was in landed a little pinky which was released to fight another day.
Over the next 15 minutes or so missed a couple of tentative bits but all went quiet when a boat came in close investigating. Not happy but what can you do?
Finished up just before 7 and made the long walk back to the car after slipping on the rocks and twisting my ankle. Ended up with a 2 pinkies, 2 whiting and the ever present banjo.
I will be planning an evening/night session very soon as loved what i seen there.
Interesting side note, all fish caught on pilchard with only a couple of touches on squid!

Re: Point Lillias 26 Feb
You can cast straight into 5m of water there, as long as you dont cast straight out the end towards bird rock as thats just reef.
Dont need the big surf rods guys have down there, use something smaller and more sensitive so its easier to pick up whiting and pinkies.
Squid hang around that area too.

Great report. I fish there a lot and can be very productive at times.
Just a general warning that some lowlifes tried to open door of my mate's car damaging the lock in the process as it gets very quiet at where you park your car. It should be fine as long as you don't leave anything valuable in the car that people can see.

Breaking into the car is not a problem.. i actually own an old bomb that i use as my train station car and take fishing to places like this... i dont even lock the doors. They generally have a look around and then leave with out damaging anything! Lol
