Fished patterson river this evening starting at the mouth facing towards the river. Go snagged soon and cut the line. Moved up the river to get shelter from the westerley winds.
Cast out a fully pilly on the new Pflueger rod and reel and some chicken on the old kmart rod. Fished for a few hours without bite. Packed up and called it a night.
Any advice fishing patto river for bream or mulloway appreciated. Thanks.

Prawn and yabbies work way better than chicken in the patto for bream. Also you're in for a much better chance for jewies with fresh or live baits. Cant really beat fresh caught squid, but mullet and salmon do well too, live or fillet

From my experience on the Patto.. if you make a little bait trap you should find an abundance of mullet (poddys) which makes perfect live bait lollipops (had no luck with this technique).. Or you could use fresh oily strip baits or my favourite the humble old pilly ! Most important is being persistent ! Good luck tight linesTarsh wrote:Fished patterson river this evening starting at the mouth facing towards the river. Go snagged soon and cut the line.
