Thanks, Deathray - that makes sense. I used to fish for them under the railway bridge in Kensington, but never managed to get a take there - mind you, I'm sure they're right through the system at any given time. I've heard they can be found all the way up to Avondale Heights.
Is this your first Maribyrnong mulloway?

Bilby, I've tried there as well without success, it seems pretty shallow and reefy. I've got fish in the Nong before but none as big as this one which is quite possibly also the best looking fish I've ever caught.
