What are people catching off the Altona Pier and when's the best time to fish it?

mullet, rays. kinda rare if you catch pinkys or samon off there. all the dredging an beach cleaning for the toffee folk fooked it years ago.
left side from mark up squid but its luck if there there tbh. no point wasting your time there tbh. try werribee or port melb or even willy

last year the pier was producing good size salmons constantly throughout cold months. this year i saw some good pinkies were taken during warm season as well. Just about 3 weeks ago, there were schools of large salmon up to 60cm boiling up close to the shore near the pier. some guys waded out with metal lure caught quite a few decent fishes.

millers rd rocks was on the pier that day when the two guys an the guy in the yellow yack an three boats where smashing em.

problem with the warmer months is all the meatheads diving off the pier
