The west side of point Lillias drops off into reasonably deep water. Typically casting into 3-5m. It is a good place for pinkies at the right time. Right on the point itself is rocky, so you have to go past the point.

If you dont mind wading for flatties you could try Altona east end of esplanade wade out to outer sand bar at low tide (exposed or ankle deep on low) and fish the drop off. Should be able to cast as far as the yellow buoy. Wade out from side beach to avoid most of the yucky weed in the shallows. Look at google earth and you can wade out past the weed beds. Also try Point Cook coastal park, beach car park is outside the marine reserve. No weed to wade through here. Pulled some decent sized flatties from there of late.
