Sugarloaf Reservoir

Post by solararrow94 » Sun Sep 03, 2017 12:22 pm

Hi all,

I haven't been to Sugarloaf Reservoir before but it isn't much of a drive from home so I thought to give it a go. Is this time of year a good time to fish it? And what are people catching there?

I was thinking of venturing up to sugarloaf soon. The parks website says
Shoreline fishing is only allowed in designated areas
. Is there only a few spots, or is it mostly allowed?

Also, given there is only artificial bait allowed. Has anyone got any suggestions for a setup that can be cast out and set (similar to worms), or is actively working the lures the only option?

Sugarloaf is at Christmas hills between Kangaroo Ground & Yarra Glen.

Would powerbait count as artificial?

Also be aware gates close in the evening, can get out but not in. Not sure what time they open in the morning
