Looking for some mullet!
Looking for some mullet!
Hey guys!
Looking for some mullet and not doing very well at all.
Went to my usual trusty spot at mordialloc creek yesterday and didn't even get a touch even after heaps of burley!
Wondering if anyone knows where they've been hanging out lately?
Thanks!

Re: Looking for some mullet!
Best mullet fishing I've encountered was at gunners.
Look for a northerly, and low swell. Berley like a mad thing, small pieces of chicken on long shanked hooks. Once you see the silver flashes in the surf, it's game on.

Re: Looking for some mullet!
Was actually going to post something today regarding mullet. Twice I have gone down to Tooraddin (Sawtells inlet) with a trap, burleyed substantially, yet have not even seen any mullet in the inlet, let alone had any in the trap or on the hook. I have been going fairly late - heading down no more than 2 hours before dusk and then into the night, so is it possibly a day only thing to berley for the poddies?
On a side note, did get in a 38cm Trevally on an ultra light mullet rig in the inlet whilst I was there which put up a great battle! :a_goodjob:

extra small hooks on the high tide at the Patterson river. You get whole schools coming in, plus beam and eel.
