That’s not bad mate. Were they good size ones?
a few were just smallies i wouldve put back if i thought they had a good chance of survivng cos they really suffer if theyre out of the water for more than a few seconds. There were a few 30cm hoods, with dad picking up a MONSTER 45cm hood.

Williamstown , Gloucester park or pt gellibrand car park...west or nth wind high tide very shallow...
Middle Brighton pier on the bend .
Hampton rock groynes..
Werribee south rock groynes ,west or nth wind high tide...
St Leonard's pier n Queenscliff pier.
Long time since this post but where in Williamstown would be ideal for squid. And also for pt gellibrand would you have to float a jig/baited jig out with a northerly/westerly? Thanks in advanced mate.

Reviving old discussion.
If there's squid off pt gellibrand, I assume there's squid behind footy ground, or I'm wrong?

Planning to go there on a yak.

I can't say I'm familier with the area, but I've been hearing that they've been getting nice squid off Altona, and seeing how close this is I couldn't imagine why not. Never know until you try!
Keen to see if you can get onto some.

Yup, I read that. Thanks.

So there's squid left and right, there there's gotta be squid in the middle too. Hopefully the water be clear enough tomorrow.

I reckon so, out of curiosity I gave the Point Gellibrand Heritage Park a google, and then a youtube.

Looks very rocky, #cuttlefishterritory and then breaks into deeper weedy eel-grass and sandy beds. I would imagine this would be the same that little further up, though maybe a bit more exposed. I reckon you'd get some kgw out there too.

Can’t help with squid in that area, but had a mate at altona on a boat today, said the water was fairly dirty, would probably be the same around that area atm
