Lorne
Went out real early this Morning with the family to Lorne pier, it was a foggy morning but made it there at 3am. Saw a heap of kangaroos on the side of the road just watching you pass. Saw a few fishos there already onto a few nice squid so I decided to try my luck with a 3.0 white jig and soon landed 2 small models. Not much after that, did see Sammy the seal which is always ready to tax your catch if your too slow. At around 6am with not much to show for we decided to look for another spot to get away from the seal so we stopped by a nice rocky edge off the side of the road just further up. Got out the 8ft medium action rods and rigged a double drop on them, baited with pippies and chicken fillets pieces we launched it over the edge of the rock platform. Was pretty quiet at first but as the Sun came out we started getting some action. First fish landed was a Tommy rough, then everyone was getting them, then came the trevalys in big numbers. Was double header every cast and trevalys were all between 29cm - 54cm. Got a few reefy ludericks amongst the action and for 2 hrs we were just lifting out fish and dropping big Trevs just on the lift. By 10am we were tired and hungry and the trevalys slowed down and all we were getting were Tommy roughs between 26cm -31cm, they were plague proportion. Left them biting and went home. All in all was a great fun little sesh had and everyone got to have a feed, I kept the Tommy for bait in the freezer.

Kenle, just that line alone, for me, makes it an awesome post.
Great to see that the family had a day that won't be forgotten for ages. And what a great haul and a great time hauling them in too. Fantastic, love ya work.
And this photo says it all about the Trevs AND your cooking
Cheers, Bugatti

Re: Lorne
Cheers guys, yeah we had a ball. Must've just been a school of them at that spot at that time so it was just pure luck. Out of the total catch, I only kept one pan size trevaly to cook for my little kids and a few Tommy roughs for bait. Kids polished the trevaly and friends and neighbours shared the rest of the catch.
