Shore Based Reefs in PPB

Post by StarrangerAU » Mon Oct 21, 2019 9:20 pm

Some useful information for landbased fisher-folk... the link is a few years old now, but still very relevant.

https://vfa.vic.gov.au/recreational-fis ... ased-reefs.

The new reefs are in a water depth of between 3-4.5 metres, approximately 40 metres seaward of Frankston Pier, and 40 to 70 metres seaward of Portarlington Pier's rock-wall section and the end of Altona Pier
.

I remember this years ago. Such a great initiative. Wish they'd put more. It works really well since PPB doesn't have much structure.

Doesn't seem that hard to do... you'd wonder why it hasn't been pursued
