Need help! Land based fishing Melbourne

Post by jamieleekp » Tue Jun 25, 2013 9:30 pm

Hey guys.

As a suprise I'm takinh hubby out tomorrow for some land based fishinh around melbourne.
I live in williamstown and was thinking if you could help me tonight with some ideas.

We have been to point lonsdale, north shore, warmies, brighton, altona peir, st kila pier and caught nothing all this year also down at werribee river and had a few bites but that was it. Down off the rocks at werribee south caught several banjos which were a pain in the butt.

Generally using pilchards and blue or white bait.

Any ideas suggestions as to where the fish have been bitting the last week and what to use.

Going tomorrow being wednesday morning/day/afternoon.

Please help.

It's tough land based this time of year in Melbourne. You could try any of the piers for salmon but you have to time it right. There's always a bream around the dockland (end of central pier seems to be as good as any) but you'll have to get yourself some prawns.

I had an absolute ball the other day on the salmon, Admittedly it wasn't land based.
