Re: At 30 knots
G'day rb85, I run it on 200khz and sensitivity on auto. I haven't played around with it too much. It picks up fish on but after seeing Wollys I was pretty impressed.

Re: At 30 knots
Most of the time it has to do with the transducer placement. take some pics of where its been mounted and im sure we can help you out if possible.Feathor wrote:That's a great reading, I have the same unit but the 9" and there is no way I could get anything close at 30 knots.
I'd pay someone to have mine looking so clear, it does my head in!
im still trying to get mine right a year later, but i have limited options due to how my boat is and where i can put my transducer

99% of installations are too high and or too close to the motor thus effected by prop wash.

Re: At 30 knots
have you got a pic side on, and also from the back looking straight at it.
hard to tell from this angle.
also not sure why they used a grommet below the waterline??

Re: At 30 knots
Your elite ti9 uses the longer transducer mate. Not the smaller one.
And why have you got both running for a start?
You only need one if your running the elite ti9.
And if your using a second unit for just gps then you don't need the transducer anyway.
The smaller transducer actually looks well mounted but maybe drop the trailing edge of it a smidge down. So its exactly the same as it is now up. And could use a slight move upwards.

Ok, I'm running the HDS Gen2 Touch 9". The long transducer is for structure scan. I understand that they should both be mounted. I only run the one unit. I will try adjusting the smaller transducer slightly next time and see if it makes any difference.

Re: At 30 knots
Ok so you don't have the elite ti9 then.
The hds 2 needs both to work. Or you can upgrade to the totalscan and have just the one long transducer. But i would leave them for now
Angle them.both a smidge downwards.
If your around the southeastern suburbs i can give you a hand if you want.
