it was so simple

Post by Wolly Bugger » Tue May 01, 2018 12:45 pm

For my boat I wanted to know how much fuel the engine was using so that i didn't run out whilst fishing. The tank size is 70 litres with a 140 hp motor. Tank fuel gauges in boats are not that accurate, so the solution was to hook my motors sensors to the lowrance elite ti 7 sounder.

Quotes varied between 700 - 800 dollars. So I bought the parts for a little over 400 dollars and thanks to Steves helped hooked it all up. And it didn't work after much tooing and froing, I spent about an hour or more on the phone with navico and still no joy. Disconnected and rejoined everything without success.

Thenmonday ranrg some more people to try and find the solution. It was suggested that I mayhave the wrong version of the interface. So I hunted downthe packaging finding in one packaging a bit of tape stuck to the plastic.

It said this end to motor. So I disconnected the adaptor and swapped ends. And It now works, thelowrance recognises the motor.

Good you got it working, was just wondering about it just the day before.
i just cant work out how the plugs were around the wrong way though?
and did the cable go through the motor cowl ok?

did you go through the setting and pick the right motor etc as well?
also theres a new suzuki interface available for lowrance, i couldnt tag you in it cause im not friends on fb with you.
ill try and track it down again if i can, only seen it a week ago

Last Sunday the GPS showed I travelled 100 kilometers and when I filled up it took 50 litres of petrol.

If I did run at full throttle my spine would be shoved through my head as my boat does in excess of 35 knots.

I had a similar experience years ago putting a fuel flow sensor in, the help line was fantastic I had to install a special end cap to the end of the near spine then it worked great. 2k a litre is great my boat gets around 1.2 k per litre.
