thank you all for the replies.
Yes I have an old sonar/ gps now (black and white) and I will use the same hole for the transducer cable.
I feel more confident now to do the job myself after reading all your advice.
Ps. Does anyone use this elite 7 ti and are you happy with it.

give it a shot on your own mate, its not that hard at all.
use the older power wires and join into them if your not confident running it all the way to the busbar or isolator switch etc.

i had the elite ti7 and upgeaded to the elite ti9, they are both great units, as with most sounders, make sure you get the transducer absolutely spot on, otherwise you wont be getting good reading when going a bit faster than trolling speed.

What about BL Marine in preston.

They stock Lowrance so they might install them as well?? Or they might put you on to someone who does.
