Has anyone started using the lowrance update that has fish reveal? Anyone have screen shots? What are your thoughts

It just shows an icon of a fish when it detects an arch that resembles a fish arch, I thought?

Firstly Fish reveal is not the sounder showing fish symbols instead of arches.

The recent Fish reveal update ONLY works in Down scan Mode and basically puts a colour on the fish blobs that you usually see on downscan.
So instead of seeing a lot of single coloured blotches, the blotches that are actually fish, show up in a different colour (which you can actually choose from a palette)
I used it at the recent comp and didn’t really see much that interested me. (possibly because the fish weren’t Big enough to be marked im not sure)
IT DOES NOT WORK ON SIDE SCAN. Only Down scan.

Ask me in a week, at the moment in talks with CH Smith about a Carbon unit.

I've really liked the update and find myself running slit screen with regular sonar and downscan with fish reveal on the other side. Using both these really helps distinguish the difference between structure and fish, it's been great.

Is any lowrance product with downs an imagery able to install it?

Not using one so from an outsiders view, the update was a marketing kids wet dream. It sounded great, but doesn't really live up to the hype. Unless it's greater image definition or something meaningfully similar, it's all just words and nothing more

if you can't atleast partially read a downscan image then you need a better understanding of the type of area you're fishing before even thinking about using a sounder

restricted to the Elite Ti series, HDS and carbon only afaik

i actually used it to help my mate learn to read the structure scan better, he has never used structure scan before, so it helped him to a certain extent.
i still just prefer to use it without fish reveal though
