Can anyone pls tell me the difference between navionics card and cmap? What's the difference, and which one is a better option for local vic?
Cheers!

Never heard of cmap but will have a squiz

But navionics is very good and user friendly imo but that's not to say cmap isn't better.

This is a good question, as Garmin purchased navionics around 12months ago I believe, which is why cmap has become a lot more popular. Navionics is still ahead of cmap I believe, but the more people that use cmap, the better it can become.

My thoughts anyway.

I have installed both many times over the years. Not much in it really. They tend to leapfrog each other as each improves their product.

Thanks everyone for your input. Navionics seems to be the winner.

The word with a lot of offshore game skippers is that cmaps is much more accurate with their contour lines/depths.

I use cmaps and it's spot on.

since garmin has purchase navionics, all new lowrance units are coming equipped with cmap already installed (on most good models anyway) so i think its only a matter of time before it gets on par with navionics who used to be top dog
