Yeah, I would head down to Portland or somewhere similiar really check out what boats r going out n in what type of conditions n how they handle.....
Just do a bit more of your own research..

6 would be OK if it was a newer hull. With kids 1 definitely not. Awesome boats, but no way are they 'kid friendly'. There's really nowhere for kids to hide on r models. Agree with fp on the rest.

Edit: I wouldn't go 5. 550re's have minimal cockpit room for their size

Yeap :) the easy part right ...

One thing is for sure, I want the Johnson/Suzuki 140HP 4st on the boat and a Stressfree Freefall winch with a Sarca #3.

That does sound good. Definitely get a stress free anchor and I have a sarca as well! Great anchors :thumbsup:
