Pa had a 28 foot swift craft moored and only took it out of the water once a year to clean the hull and put antifoul paint on the hull.

He used a 15 or so year old high pressure water spray machine that looked ancient but did the job amd even took off some of the anti foul paint.
Was a good machine but a old one amd sorry didnt have any brand labels on it

Hastings Super Shine car wash
2070 Frankston - Flinders Rd, Hastings VIC 3915

We go there after every trip and every now and then the bloke there gives us a freebie which we are happy about. Pretty good incentive to go back

I've got the mid-ranged Karcher 1800psi. It seems to be powerful enough for cleaning the boat and most household needs (pavers, outdoor furniture, etc) but I wouldn't want to go any smaller. Still struggles to get baked on pilchard off though (I think a sandblaster would struggle with baked on pilchard)
*It's not perfect, but is saves a lot of water compared to a normal hose.

Any up the east coast? Will be spending 2 weeks up that way and a good wash and flush will be needed a few times

Where you going? Do you have access to garden hose where you staying?
When at bermagui we just hose off with normal hose at end of the day with no issues and rhen use a soft broom and soap and cleans up fine.

Up to Eden but will be stopping off at Tyres, Bemm, Mallacoota along the way... all depends on weather really.
I'll be living out of my boat/car and if not I'll be sleeping on a bank somewhere with a campfire. Still not sure what I'm gonna do about a shower but I'll work that out when it comes to it.

So I'll just have to throw $10 in a car wash every couple days in between towns to give her a rinse off

If your running the boat every day the salt water wont dry out enough to cause erosion so dont have to worry about flushing the motor unless your not using it for a few days.

At bermagui we only flush the motor at the end of the week and only wash the side down with salt water and a rag before we head to the ramp so havent had any salt issues with the paint yet.

do you have to wash your boat at home??
why dont you do it at the carwash, the equipment there is generally powerfull enough.
Unless of course you boat is moored, or sits on a dry dock etc.
Even if it's moored and put on the trailer or slip.
A high pressure was should be able to clean any muck off.
Yah. It's easier to wash at home. So was thinking if I need a pressure washer. Right now, just using spray hose and good old hand mitten to wash it.
