:( yeah would prefer it other way round ,but drain hole on esky. Means it has to go this way...

Buy a new bung and drill a hole in the other end and put it in, but of silicone to seal it up and bobs ya uncle.

i honestly would have put in a single seat and used the esky in the back of the boat somewhere, or even between the seats in the cabin area.
more comfortable sitting on a padded seat than on an esky when travelling in some decent chop.

Carpet appears to be clip in (bowl?) so is as easy as unclip and drain before hosing both off separate. No need to spin the esky around either, decent canopy/clears combo reduces the gap to stop a fish going back over considerably and saves the hassle of modifying the esky. And no one should sit in average slop, nice way to hurt the back on almost any seat, look at most ab boats, very few have seats as not only is that wasted room for them but also the ride is better using your knees to cushion the impacts.

I don't know the exact dimensions of the Cobra cockpit, the old man has twin bucket seats and a 90 odd cm long esky that is pushed almost to the seats when fishing. There's ample walk room between the esky and bait tank, even more when the tank is out. You're a lot closer to the rods and is invaluable as a closer seat when either Whiting fishing or trolling

You could also cut a slit in the front end wide enough for the arm of the reel foot to slide in. This will keep the rod centred and stop it from rolling to the sides.
