I,m only a fair backer but manage to get by.
My garage opening is also narrow so I back into the driveway, disconnect and manually push the boat in.
A large pneumatic tyre on the jockey makes this a piece of cake.

Lord, allow me to catch a fish, so large that even I,when speaking of it afterwards.........May have no need to lie !!!

Always fun backing the trailer with the boat off, I can't see the winch post except on the camera which is not much help, and trailer is narrower than the car so when it appears in the side mirror it is already off line, I snake my way down the ramp but usually end up where I want to be.

Cheers
Ango.

all the same theme yes short draw bars make it harder as the trailer get away from you quickly - boat trailers though should be easy to reverse as there is a good distance between the ball and the axle group
fifth wheelers are easier again to back

maybe this system is what people need

in fact it would be a great idea for FWD cars to have traction getting back up the ramp

Back in the old days, some people had towbars on the front of their cars
For positioning their caravans (no drive thru at parks).

Worked well
