seats

Post by blacklab99 » Mon Sep 25, 2017 6:23 pm

Has anybody gone thru the "new seat buying process"
I want a decent quality pair, fitting them on a fibre glass seat box, with sliding and pivot.
Have not so good memories of the old pedestal basic model seat I had, and remember the sore back after a long day out.
Anyone have brand or type recomendations ?

cheers

HaHaHa, Gidday Tex, hope all's well.
Drama's are pretty well over now, thank god, but the new crowd are dragging the chain a bit.
But in all honesty, its great to have more room in the factory while its there.
Mines had to be put on the back burner, one of the guys wives unfortunately passed and that's left a staff of one to plod on.
But, transom is ready to go on, stringers done, just waiting for the sant marine plastic tank to be made so they can whack a new floor in as well.
So I'm collecting Texas ! All the new bits and bobs, radios, new deck wash pump, electronics, lighting etc etc it doesn't stop. Hopefully by years end I'll be fitting it out.
I'm fitting seat pods, (when the floors down) so I've got the new seat boxes, I just need to search for some decent seating.
there's some great bargins to be had online, but hard to tell which ones are quality and which ones will last the distance and more importantly be comfortable ! As age sets in, I'm really looking for some good supportive seats ( well, maybe the deckies might be a Tad less comfortable ! )
cheers

I would check out seats with the flip up front. Nice to rest against whilst standing up.

I agree, that's why I went for the Axis H52.

Absolutely frozenpod, I had actually seen those on fleabay and was going to be a priority along with a sliding and swivel base. So with that lift up part on the seat shown, that should really work well.
