So if your not towing the boat is the car still covered or do you also have car insurance and there for paying for double insurance on the car.

Was with racv but they wont cover gps and were expensive and have to specify boat trailer motor
Allianz cover the total cost so if trailer gets stolen doesnt matter what each thing cost your covered as long and doesnt exceed total coverd amount and cheaper then racv, club marine takes a cover anount of allianz

My advice is to ring an insurance broker and ask. They have access to many underwriters and should be able to tell you the difference between the products on offer and tell you prices. A policy from one company is not the same as a policy from another, you must consider that you are not comparing apples with apples before simply comparing prices. Of course I feel you have the time and ability to do this yourself then you could just compare policies and prices on the internet but it can be pretty complicated and often Brokers have access to policies that aren't sold direct to the public. Also I think the broker fee is about $25 so it's worth it in my opinion. If you ever have to make a claim they handle all the paperwork for you and do the dealings with the insurance company on your behalf too.

Disclaimer: my father is an insurance broker and they cover hundreds of boats (mostly sail boats as they had an exclusive policy they designed in conjunction with a yacht club but also plenty of trailerable motor boats)
