Re: Some Boat Launch & Retrieve Training
I’d learn somewhere other than patto. Haven’t launched at kananook before but I assume that’s pretty quiet and not current affect as much as Patto is.
Nut it out without the current then have a crack at patto. It will be more beneficial long term.
Patto isn’t a hard place but the current can be an annoying ***** at times. Find out how your boat/trailer reacts in still water first.

Practice and more practice, until you get your confidence up. My advice would be to take your rig for a drive to a freshwater lake somewhere, where it's much less crowded, and practice driving on and off until you feel comfortable with it

Re: Some Boat Launch & Retrieve Training
I have taken a few mates for lessons when they have bought boats. You must have mates that have boats that could run you through it. We normally pick midweek we normally go to Altona no current to worry about. For me Rhyll is the ramp if you can get your boat on the trailer there you can get it on any ramp

I could not google it. Can you send the link?Deano66 wrote:Skouta. Check out Victorian Boat training website. It looks like they run boat handling courses in your own boat.

I looked into it, they offer an on your boat training - $500 for 3 hours. (a little steep for me)

I wouldn’t pay that. How often do you get a chance to practice mate?skouta wrote:http://www.victorianboattraining.com.au ... ng-course/sturgeon wrote:I could not google it. I Guess you would want to factor in the mistakes and balance that against the price of the instruction. Haha.
