Would this work? For saving water when flushing the motor.
When flushing the motor i normally hook the hose upto the muffs amd let the water drain into the tub and then i use it on the garden and the tub is 70lt and normally fills up plus 2 watering cans
Woud the impella be able to such the water up if i attached a foot or so long hose to the muffs into the tub son dont use so much water.
Or do you need a bit of pressure behind it?
I know i wouldnt have a hose on it at the ramp so theory should work but just unsure is adding the hose will restrict the pressure intake.

It will not work. The impeller needs to be submerged to work correctly. It won't draw the water up the hose.

If you want to save water just get a rain water tank. Attach a pump to it and you have clean fresh water.
Im not handy at all but i managed to hook it all up myself and works a treat. Good for watering my veggie garden too

With my 15hp Mercury, I would either use a 44 gallon drum or one of the rubbish bins. However the Suzuki is another matter, and If I was serious about saving water, I would build a tank that the leg could lowered into, fill with water and then run the motor.skronkman wrote:It will not work. Anyway my motor gets flushed on the lawn anyway. plus the boat is washed on the lawn as well.

I normally wash at car wash and just fluch the motor at home as i unpack the boat.
I was more if i run the boat once a fortnight without going out.

I was thinking about getting a bigger tub but it gets in the way when not in useWolly Bugger wrote:With my 15hp Mercury, I would either use a 44 gallon drum or one of the rubbish bins. I know nothing about boats but wouldn't that just be cycling the salt you've just flushed out back though the motor?

Provably rite just going to put salt back threw the motor
Was hoping just wth the amount of water would have diluted enough.
I Was thinking of running the motor on the hose for few mins till the bucket fills up 3/4 then if i wanted to keep the motor running for 5 or 10 more mins to swap over to water already bucket

This is what I used to use on mine no water waste after flushing turn the tap on and let it drain to wherever you want . I don't use it anymore I live in Curlewis near Clifton Springs if your close or head near here couple of cans of southern comfort and it's yours
