Yeah, I'm kicking myself. but she was pissing down when I picked it up, jumped in to look at the floor and tank area, didn't peer in the engine well.
So kicking my self I never inspected closer. The transom is mirror finish, beautiful finish !
But yeah, p1ss poor bowl.
Anyways, the old saying, do it yourself, then there's no one to ***** at !
I'm picking my finish will be a damn site better than the pro's.......

200 wet/dry, 400 wet/dry, 800 wet/dry and MAYBE it'll save the time and expense of grinding it back and spraying before doing the whole rub down all over again.

That job will wait for the minute, Old gunwale rubber almost off, big clean up on the weekend, then get to work on grinding out all the side shelf's, plenty to do, but I'm up for it ! famous last words

The cutting and grinding out the old stuff, the layup of new glass is all fairly quick and easy (itchy though). It's the touch-ups, the rubbing back, the retouch-up, rub back, spray, touch up, rub back, final spray, rub back that's the worst

Ok, mucked that up, doubled up on one photo.
This is the top half being connected to the hull, interestingly, rivoted together. No doubt they use an epoxy between the join as well.
but it was interesting lookig at it once the gunnel was removed and all the epoxy mix was chizled off.
The old gunwale rubber, was basically cactus, it snapped and split as it was un screwed and pulled off, she was fair knackered.
getting the same prfile gunwale rubber is going to be an issue, most types dont have an infill strip, which gives you access to screw it all the way round
the boat, then slip the insert in to finish it, still searching for something close in style and dimensions......

Not a real exciting Pic, But, 5 hours today giving her an acid wash to get over spray, glue, other shite, I don't know what it was !
So it's relatively clean now.
Got into grinding all the internal shelf area's for the rest of the day, once I've finished it all off, i'll post up a Pic.
Step by step, she'll gradually get done !!
