200 series is terrible value for money though. You can buy 2 jeeps for the same price.

Not to mention 1.5 patrols and many other suitable tow vehicles.

BT50 and DMAX with the longer wheel base reportedly tow better too.

The OP doesn't need anything like the above to tow his rig.

Prado or Pajero is probably a good option choice.

Let us know what you end up buying Chris.

I used to tow my streaker 545 about 1600kg with first a ba xr6 then a bf xr6 both cars had the Hayman Reece square hitch the bf having the 2300kg tow pack which I never used the were just level rides. Both cars towed the boat great heaps of grunt fuel went up to about 17 lt per hundred. The only issue I ever had was with the bf it had very low profile tyres and if there was sand on the ramp were the boat was I just couldn’t get traction select 1 st and very light on the throttle always got it out.
I went to a prado in 2012 1st time I towed the boat the anchor a sarca punched a hole in the spare wheel cover not happy. I extended the drawbar one meter by sliding a thick wall square tube over the existing drawbar and bolted it on worked a treat.

A mate has a Hyundai Santa Fe and it tows pretty good as well.
