Long time boater first time owner!
Hi guys so I’ve posted this as I’ve just got my first boat which I guess like many first boat owners I wanted for years n upon finally owning one I have now had a whole new world open up for me!
Great little tinny perfect for what I want! New outboard was a key selling point for me, but since I have had a few hiccups along the way!
Driving out of mulwala I noticed the trailer crossbar was almost completely snapped in half! Upon realising I’ve noticed the trailer was far too small for the boat! I’ve since got a new trailer
I launched at eildon put the boat in and then had a fuel line problem alongside the bung plug hole silicon giving way n coming in through the screw! Not a total disaster but a PITA I was lucky enough to have a boating vet as my deckie that day.
So I learnt the hard way that maintenance in every aspect is key especially when buying second hand!
So I made this post for both myself and any other first boat owners to read any helpful hints tips advice etc from any experienced skippers!
Time for a service! And of all things I can’t believe I forgot to buy oars!

Always check your emergency supplys when planing a trip.
Double check fuel level, batterys, bungs, straps, and winch is tight

Definately! Always trickle charging both batteries before any trip. Change of warm clothes! And from now on having such a small tinny n trailer n enjoying winter cod fishing I will never EVER again forget to bring my waders!smile0784 wrote:Always check your emergency supplys when planing a trip.

And no nothing to report on the carp front.. work has been a big drainer.. the boat too! I got a new trailer at the boat show n had to do a few 7 day weeks to get around my bills.. I managed to get the coin up n got a sounder too.. the lux has been given quite a face lift and just hitting 300,000 needed to do a few things timing belt drive shaft starter motor etc.. more money more problems ey.. cannot t wait for my week off!
