You dont get a true indication so ive started to use -Windy.com https://www.windy.com/-38.153/144.737?-35.102,162.861,4
I also use Bay Winds -It shows you whats comming towards you -Bay Winds http://www.baywind.com.au/ppb/

I,m a Fishranger convert, love the setup, you can lineup the wind and the tide, sunup, slack tide etc all on one easy to read page and plan ahead.
In my case as soon as I see wind with a bit of East in it I,m getting ready. Anything West or Southwest is out at Safety Beach.
They all interpret from the same BOM data so it becomes a matter of presentation and what suits you.
Fishranger have promised more improvements in this regard.

Lord, allow me to catch a fish, so large that even I,when speaking of it afterwards.........May have no need to lie !!!
