That is sad.
Only speculating but it sounds like the deceased may not have been wearing a PFD. It always pays to wear life jackets or at least have them in a ready and easily accessible place, especially so if miles offshore and the conditions are poor.

I don't go anywhere without a life jacket and PLB attached to it. The other point that most boaters miss is that while your boat is designed with flotation to stop it sinking , it does not hold it level nor is it able to support all the extra gear you take. I added a boat collar that will support an extra 300kg and make the boat float level.Kimtown wrote:That is sad.
