They are mate, and very capable offshore. Gotta remember these really were THE boats back in the day to get head out in the blue water.

The only problem is they weren't mass produced like hulls are nowadays and they are starting to become more and more scarce as people realize they are such a good boat still.

Hi Kimtown,
For what it's worth, The V19's were a great boat, as you say, in its day. The other problem is, you either buy an un restored one and do it yourself, or you take a huge punt and rely on the word on the quality of someone elses work, I did that and had it professionally inspected and got burnt big time. Hulls have improved ten fold since those classic trail blazers were in production and 50k is going to buy you a pretty damn good reliable off shore weapon, realistically, a far better performing modern hull as well.
That amount of coin, really does open up a huge amount of boats for you, obviously due diligence is paramount in any boat, old or new, but once you research everything, which is half the fun and you will do it, you'll see whats available to you.
As far as the due diligence goes, just keep in mind, even Cruise Craft was using Masonite for flooring right through to 2005-2007 odd and I know plenty of other manufacturers were doing so as well, and as a result of this, there's been some I know that bought such boats of this era and have had major rebuilds to deal with, which considering mine, an 89 vintage and built this way, I wouldn't have thought those practices continued for so long.
Now with fibre Glass stringers in most, virtually no timber in construction, those sort of issues shouldn't rear there head. But 50k is a lot of money in anyone's books, so just research and you'll be right.
You'll end up with a cracker of a boat for 50 k for sure...

Col

Hulls I'd choose:
Caribbean:Cavalier, Reef Runner.
Haines Hunter: V19 (can bang a bit though), 600r/c (same same but not as bangy as 19, the old one that is), 203 (rare as ****), 635. Of the newer ones, 620sf, 630 breeze.
Cootacraft: Gunshot (smaller than 6m but they're absolute rockets especially offshore)
Haines Signature: 600, 630
Seafarer: Victory, Vagabond.
Mustang/Tournament (same hulls, different name): 2000, 2150.
Whittley: Sealegend 6.3, SL22.
Northbank: 600, 650
Formula powerboats: f19, f21 (rare, 19 is based off 565 hull)
