You mentioned trips to the shelf etc. Are you planning Vic swords? Tuna?

You may find 50k will scrape together a decent hull or something requiring work but motors electrics etc who knows.

Bill fish have never really interested me too much, but if I had a group of people interested and the gear then I'd be up for it.. most definitely tuna.

If it's something older that requires a rebuild I'd expect to spend something along the lines of

5-20k hull (hard to gauge a price really, it all depends on condition)
15-20k outboard (150-175 4 stroke)
10k fishing accessories (sounder, winch, rod holders, bimini, clears, rockets)
5+k refurbishment costs (paint, seats, upholstry, not 100% sure what fiberglassing costs are however)
2-5k labour (mostly fiberglass and engine install)

That's not factoring in trailer either.... probably forgetting a few things too... could get well over budget. Anyone who's rebuilt a boat before how do my numbers shape up?

Rebuilding boats are expensive.

Unless you can do most of the work yourself it is better to buy a new one.

If I would buying a hull to rebuild it would be 5k max.

For the size boats you are looking at you would be in the 200-250hp size motors so more like 25-30k.
Trailer 8-12k depends on quality braking system alloy vs gal ect.
Electronics and wiring 10k+ you can easily spend 20k here.
Hull rebuild by a quality shop new transom, floor and stringers 12-20k depending on the size of the boat and what level of finish you are after.
Fit out, depends what you can reuse but on a new 100k boat the fitout is typically 1/3rd of the cost. Easy 10k reusing what you can.

5+25+10+10+15+10 = 75k.

Also keep in mind the bigger the boat the more ongoing costs to maintain it.

The 650F has had 15k spent on it in the last 12 months which should keep it going perfectly for another few years.

Have a look at cruisecrafts. I fish out of 625 and do regular trips to the shelf.
My mate purchased another one this time last year up from Ballina Nsw. Fully setup for game fishing for 40k
