Sorry mate they are just not a nice riding boat.

They are stable but horrid riding in anything but the smallest chop.

They have a fine noise which cuts through small chop well but tends to dig in with a following sea. A heap of bow flare to help stop the noise going under.

But apart from the fine entry the rest of the hull is very very flat. Anything other than the smallest chop you either need to travel at trolling speed or they become very very horrid.

The problem with the dominators is they were only rated to 115hp but everyone would overpower them and then complain when they split the hulls.
Powered correctly they are a nice riding boat
Wait till you get a following swell and you mite change your mind

No. They're not much chop in those conditions either, even when it's dead flat otherwise

At that end of the market and that age profile you're looking at minimum $10k for floor, stringers and transom rebuilt properly without any modifications. 99% of the time a new motor, another $10k minimum. All of a sudden you've spent $35k and still haven't got it seriously wet. Then you've got a boat and trailer thats now 6.5m long or even longer depending, wider than your current boats and weighing around 2 tonne. And then there's the whole reason why boats like Swiftcraft Dominators are consistently cheap, why they don't attract premiums like a 'Haines tax' they leave a lot to be desired ride wise....

You're best off weighing up EXACTLY what you're after, how much extra work and money you want to put into it and then pulling the trigger on that specific boat, not just the cheapest and nastiest boat with a decent name
