Anyone a Savage Tech?

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone does or used to work for savage boats back in the day. I have a savage ranger 455 (2002) and cant for the life of me figure out how they got the original humminbird sx150 transducer wire routed through here. Im planning on using the same transom hole for my new lowrance hook 2- 9 transducer plug, but just cant see how ill be able to get it through those tight spots.

I hope they didnt cut and rejoin the cable...
Lowrance plugs are massive, you will need to make the hole bigger, silicone it up when finished and then cover it with one of those transom plug things.

The new lowrance plugs are nowhere near as big as the previous models, so he might be ok.

Not sure about the hook models, but the Ti, HDS and carbons are decent sized

The look smaller in comparison to the transducer, probably half the size of the old blue/red screw on ones.

I have the same boat in a 2000 model running a HDS 7, unfortunately I had to widen the hole to fit the plug through, but once through and siliconed up with a cover plate on, you cant see any of the hole

The hooks have a smaller plug in comparison to the elites and HDS models. How did you manage to get the plug through that metal tube part ? have you got any pics you could share of your transducer set up?

I am just running the standard transducer, nothing fancy on an adjustable height bracket. Yeah the plug did not fit through the piping, I ran it along the underside of the gunnel and cable tied it at intervals. For a standard tranny it holds bottom very well when it is aligned with the bottom of the hull. I get great readings doing 28 knots so cant complain. Im not tech savvy on the pics side of things so I cant help you there, sorry

The tube i am talking about sits under the small platform that the batteries sit on at the rear of the boat. How did you by pass wiring through this tube if you used the same hole as your original transducer?
