Anodes

Post by Nude up » Fri Dec 07, 2018 3:18 pm

I had a few jobs to get done on my boat replace the busted u bolt and fit different end caps to my bow roller to centralise the bow of the boat to the mule post. As I was walking around the boat I noticed that the trim tab anode on the lower leg had gone, obviously came loose and fell off not sure where or when.
I normally get my Yamaha spares from port Phillip boating centre unfortunately nil stock till the new year.
I revert to eBay and here is my question zinc or aluminium i did a bit of research and if you believe what you read aluminium is the go so has any body had any personal experience of the two types.

Zinc and aluminum can both be used for salt water. Zinc is longer lasting aluminum is cheaper.

Get the same material as the other anodes on your motor.
