Extreme by a mile. I’ve fished out of all three and it’s an easy choice.

The only other alloy that I’d consider is stabicraft (is even suggest that the ride is better in stability because of the stability from the pontoons). But they lose out on the fact that they are so ugly.

Full disclosure I own an Extreme 695HT

Extreme. Backcrushers are exactly that, and Surtees are only the original of that. Plus they're plain as anything.

And that's coming from someone who won't ever contemplate a plate boat

I took a bloke out in my boat which is glass and he said he much preferred it to the Barcrusher, which he said he didn't like. Also heard of people putting concrete in that cavity which fills with water when at rest.

Spose I'm just looking for something that will cut through chop sharper and that is set up
straight of the bat just for hard core fishing

Go glass instead of alloy.

This. If they are good enough for Paul Worsteling and Matt Black (I'm told Paul copied Matt in this regard) then they should be good enough for anyone. Just gotta deal with the fact they look like a tug boat. Although the big gun metal grey ones look pretty ******* tough

If you go glass, then I'd suggest the arvor. I will buy on when finances allow.

Been in a barcrusher and didn't like it. Was like drive Ving over corrugated iron sheets.

I go the extreme over anything if I had the money.

Anyone tried the 6900 ocean series by tabs boat?

Yeah, I've got some stalking issues with Worsteling....In his defence I think his wife might be instigator.
*Kiwi plate boats are far superior to the stuff made in Oz (probably something to do with the harsher ocean environment or more competition between the multitude of manufacturers)

Buy a fibreglass boat instead, all these plate/alloy boat builders are trying to replicate a glass boat anyway by increasing deadrise and sharper entries and they're nowhere near it. If you're going to spend $100k, you'd be mad not to look at least, nothing comes even close to glass.
