Nice work man, looks like a nice rig. A new sounder and the other additions and it's game on....

Nice one mate, you cant go wrong with Haines Hunter.

I have a 460 SLR. It might be small but it is a beauty.

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and I'd like to start a new thread on fibreglass vs alloy boats for ppb and westernport as I'm new to the waters and looking at buying a boat but not too sure on what kind so any ideas would be highly recommended

As a very general rule of thumb a glass boat will be heavier and punch through the steep chop that is often found in PPB but it will require more HP. While a pressed alloy boat will generally be lighter and tend to slap off the top of the chop giving you a harsher ride but it will perform well with a smaller outboard. Plate alloy boats are generally closer to a glass boat in weight and performance in the chop but you can still get away with a smaller outboard for similar sized boat compared to glass.

Thanks also how do I start a topic on the forum? I'm looking at a half cabin fibre glass boat from a dealer at home (maryborough) but I've only ever owned a 3 metre tinny so it's going to b3 a whole new experience
