Exciting times hornet!
When do you think he first launch might be??? :)
I'll give it a clean and tidy up / do the trailer bearings and a safety check / flares / jackets ect.

I don't want to miss the big breeders (squid) at Queenscliff in lonsdale bight the next two months.(Aug / Sept ) 2kg+

After this maybe fish St Leonards for whiting a couple of times then retire the boat for a shake down paint ect over x-mass.

A pretty good plan and you get to see first hand in fishing conditions what mods to add and where

Cheers, envious of the 2kg+ squid, Bugatti

On a good day you could target just about anything out of that tinny. Keep the heads in the freezer for bait...Snapper and gumbos aren't out of reach.
Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the tinny club mate

Some friendly advice Hornet....if you don't have these already, ensure you have a spare wheel, also a trailer lock. These couple of things can save you a lot of headaches down the track if the unmentionable may happen.

Thx for the advise Red, the boat came with a spare wheel and I already have a trailer lock I use for my 6x4 trailer.

I don't waist any part of the squid I clean the squid heads for eating also, the snapper and gummies will have to be content with pilchards ! LOL

BTW I buy market pilchards flour and fry them, add olive oil, garlic pieces, vinegar, parsley, salt and pepper and leave soaking for 30 minutes I love em this way !

My eating preference is 1/ squid 2/ whiting 3/ flathead 4/ gummy ... I don't really eat snapper so usually give them away.

THX for the advice buddy !

Monster Squid not far away, caught 4 large ones off St Leonards the other day
Last year the Monsters were in at Lonsdale Bight on the 23 August not far from the Marine Reserve
Weather and a heap of Weed covering the bight last year stuffed me up
Good luck with boat and Fushin

Agree dennis the Lonsdale bight at the right time of year holds some monster squid that rival western port.

My first boat was a 420 Dory and it was a ripper. Such a sturdy package. It was good in PPB, Westernport and Port Welshpool as well as Bemm River and Lake Tyers. Enjoy. You will find some additional rod racks helpful as I always found them underfoot when under way.
