Boating on your own is considered high risk and he needed his pdf on at all times if he was on his own.
I hope he gets a good fine for that..

Reminds me of a guy I seen at the ramp one day. Wore his lifejacket then proceeded to wear his puffer jacket over the pdf. I stopped him and asked him how the lifejacket was going to save him in this instance if he fell in.
He quickly realised and took it off and put the jacket on first and then the pfd over it.

I'm no saint either when it comes to boating, but I've made sure I've got my pdf on at all times. Even if I'm on a bigger boat. Very rarely do I take it off when in a larger vessel

Was full of water apparently.
No put in or bung not put in correctly.
Not sure how a bung could fail...
News report said man could not swim....
Boat hand no branding on it ..was only 11 months old.

If it isn't a chinese Gospel I'll eat my own ****. They have now moved into knock off Stabicrafts too....

I'd have more faith in a diy of aralditing a slab of empty cans after drinking its alcholic contents than one of those after seeing build pictures.... But hey they're cheap as chips
Today I learnt there are imitation Stabicrafts! https://www.boatsales.com.au/editorial/ ... fs-120363/

The one that capsized looked like a Formosa (knockoff?)

When I retrieved last night I had about 30l come out the back of the boat despite only being in the water 5-6 hours.

Found the culprit this morning. A cracked bit of sika where the bung joins the hull. Slapped an inordinate amount of silicone on it and went fishing again with it still wet and she’s apples. Lol.

Will book it in the get a new bigger bung installed when I get a moment.

I think the Downrigger Shop guy (or one of his mates) is ordering one. It'll be interesting to see how much mileage he gets out of it before it suffers from a leaky bunghole

edit: I just clicked that link, they even sell landing craft lmao. Perfect for a weekend away with the boys storming the beach at Normandy Norman Bay

Theres nothing to this one. The idiot forgot to put his bungs in. Bungs do not fail on a nine month old boat. This guy is that stupid that he actually drove back to Mornington for half an hour and didn't think in that time to actually put on a life jacket which by law he should have been wearing as he was by himself.

Not only this but why wouldn't a boat of that size actually have a bilge pump in it? Or let me guess it does have one but he was too stupid to think to use it.

That exact boat has been selling on ebay for dirty cheap for ages. It has China written all over it and anyone stupid enough to buy it must be a newbie to boating like this bloke.
